Winter Blues Jazz Festival

January 16-19

Williamsburg, VA

The four-day Winter Blues Jazz Fest is back for its 6th year!  It will take place January 16-19, 2020, over the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday weekend, primarily in the Merchant's Square area of downtown Williamsburg. Venues include the Williamsburg Winery,  the Williamsburg Lodge, Tent Central, and other unique spaces. The over-riding goal is to provide an enriching and entertaining weekend full of jazz and blues programs with options available to suit all tastes and budgets.

The Winter Blues Jazz Fest has a little something for everyone.

Kicking things off on Thursday, January 16, the Williamsburg Winery will set the scene for the festival opening celebration, featuring Alise and the Eveready Jazz Scene.

Friday brings us two events, our very popular Mixology & Music, featuring a mixology cocktail sampling with more than 12 of our towns best bartenders and a high-energy, live music performance by one of our hometown favorites - 504 Supreme and the Truetone Honeys.  This year, we will repeat our performance "in the round" which was a big hit last year. Then we’ll head over to the Williamsburg Inn for an amazing Friday night after-party featuring Sam Rucker.

Saturday's event lineup will once again be an unforgettable day. Spend the day under the heated tent at the Big Bluesy, featuring live blues music on two stages.  Trudy Lynn at one end and Erin and the Wildfire at the other, add in a fine collection of brews, local wines, and cider procured by Dog St Pub and this will be one party you don't want to miss.  Also included in this years ticket price will be great street food by Blue Talon Bistro

Alternatively, jazz lovers can hit the "Art of Jazz" event featuring Desiree Roots performing "The Sounds of Ella" Enjoy this show at the Lane Auditorium at the Bruton Heights Complex.

On Saturday night, we will return to the Williamsburg Lodge's Colony Room for a Roaring 20’s party you won’t want to miss, featuring the world-famous Hot Sardines followed by our late-night speakeasy with Zuzu's Hot Five.

Sunday, back by popular demand, we have our amazing Gospel Brunch at the Williamsburg Lodge with Chef Justin.  Acclaimed gospel group the legendary Ingramettes will take us on a spiritual journey.

Our free afternoon Festival Chill Out, featuring the Modern Muse Quartet, this year will be on stage at the Precarious Beer Hall.  We’ve moved this event slightly earlier so we could add another showstopper event to the weekend.
